I left my soul there down by the sea
What you see above are my fingerprints on Brophy's Beach near Whitianga on the Coromandel Peninsula.
On the beach directly facing many summer houses, whose owners shamelessly envy. I was there to make me a walking, talking and watching the ocean landscapes like this
accompanied the usual gulls, if sitting with my-ipod, feel something behind me ...
A camper is attempting a risky descent, passing next few cm, to settle on the beach to spend the night.
leaving three English boys, who are making the rounds the world and to be forgiven of the disorder, they offered me a beer (which will become 2). We are talking 2, you play an absurd game in Thailand. It still surprises me how easy it is to talk to people in this land, which makes it all the more friendly.
The next day we re-met by chance in a very special place.
If you're going around the beach and suddenly you see people digging in the sand with shovels and other magnificence happily with her ass to soak into the holes dug, do not immediately think of being among people escaped from the asylum: you've got to Hot Water Beach.
In practice it happens that they are just under the sand of the thermal waters warm (sometimes even cause burns) accessible in times of low tide (announced every day on the radio). What can I say except that it is an amended absurd??
Here I am (again) with the butt of a soak in hot
I then moved to the far north of the Coromandel Peninsula, where I was a guest for two days in a Buddhist retreat center.
Apart from the absolute peace of the place, I must say that I really liked the fact that Buddhists do not try to indoctrinate us in any way, but leave you free access to everything they have (nothing is closed key), including, especially, some books Tibetan philosophy, which are available free for all.
From Colville, I ventured to a narrow dirt road up and down hills to get to Fletcher Bay, the northern end of Coromandel Peninsula. I do not think there are appropriate words to describe the beauty of the landscapes I've seen
Near the end of the road after more than 20 km of anything, certainly did not expect that I check before a camping
(In New Zealand, are camping in places, in general, wonderful, a real contact with nature).
And even if the only quirk of this posot, a bathroom was very basic, I think that people who were there that could not be happy to wake up every morning with this beach front
I sincerely believe there is no better place to camp in the world.
If, like me, you love shellfish, the Coromandel Peninsula we will definitely have some beautiful satisfactions, including absolutely can not forget the most delicious and tasty oysters I've ever eaten
soon with tales of Northland (apparently the title of a book).
Meanwhile, Happy New Year to all and good snow (sob sob).
